I was honored to be chosen as the featured artist for the MacLean Literary Festival in Missoula, MT. This was the centerpiece of that show - a scene from the moment Buffalo were brought home to the Blackfeet Nation, and then were released beneath Chief Mountain.
As someone who played a small role in bringing Wolves back home to Yellowstone Park 30 years ago, this moment touched a deep chord in me - just had to paint it!
If you get a chance to see "Bring Them Home", documentary, a story about the return of the buffalo to the Blackfeet Nation...I highly recommend it. This painting will have a whole new meaning to you.
