As I’ve said many times, I only paint what I know—my own stories. The figure in this piece could easily be me in my younger days, carrying home snowshoe hares caught overnight in my snares. (I caught a lot of rabbits back then, which earned me the nickname “Wabooz”—haha.)
But this painting is about more than a memory—it’s about the journey itself. Every step we take, every track we leave behind, shapes who we are and prepares us for what lies ahead.
