One of my solstice "ceremonies" involves taking a trip over Beartooth Pass to check out how deep the snow still is at 10,000 feet, and then check out the deep, luminous greens of the lower valleys - like this one near Cooke City, MT. One of my favorite nearby mountains, Pilot Peak, is featured in the background (it was known as "Dog Turd Peak" by the early mountain men - or so I've been told. I like Pilot Peak better, myself - but I wish I knew what the original peoples here called it).
